Dispersion Compensation Module (DCM)

Data Sheet

Optilab DCMs (Dispersion Compensation Modules) are rack-mountable spools of dispersion compensating fiber for DWDM networks.

Product Overview

The QAMnet DCM (Dispersion Compensation Modules) are rack-mountable spools of dispersion compensating fiber for DWDM networks. The DCMs are used to counteract the effects of chromatic dispersion in single mode fiber used in DWDM networks. This will increase, reduce, or eliminate Bit Error Rate (BER) during transmission.

Used in conjunction with Optilab DWDM EDFAs, DCMs can extend transmission distance in DWDM networks. QAMnet DCMs are passive devices which do not require power or maintenance. It is available in 40 km, 60 km and 80 km versions.
